I've had this adorable little plant for the last 3 years, and he's (yes, I've decided he's a boy plant for some reason, ha!) and the last couple of months, he keeps getting dead leaves that were worrying me. Except, otherwise the plant seems totally healthy. Nothing has changed, he gets the same amount of water and sunlight as always, and is in the exact same spot he's been for the past 3 years.
Finally, as I plucked yet another dead leaf off of this plant the other day, I said out loud to myself, "maybe you need to shed your old life before your new life can grow."
More than that, maybe keeping your environment and everything around you as the status quo isn’t the best solution for you.
Whether it's the environment or the people you surround yourself with, old habits or routines, or simply feeling stuck in a rut, maybe whatever you're doing right now isn't serving you the way it once way.
Maybe you're going to have to let some things go in order to see the growth you want.
Some of the questions you might need to ask yourself about these potential changes (I especially suggest journalling):
What are you going to have to give up?
What old growth will you have to shed to make room for the new?
What parts of you are you going to have to kill off so that you can can grow stronger and brighter?
What do you have to let go?
What are you allowing to take up precious real estate in your life and in your mind that will have to be shed to move forward?
The ending of one small portion of your life doesn’t have to be negative. It can be a hugely positive step that opens you up to everything you've ever wanted. But it can be a painful, scary process to get there.
Listen in as I share what kinds of changes can shift your life, how to get more comfortable saying no to opportunities that aren't the right fit, and trusting that there's more out there for you.
